Here in the Department of Pure & Applied Chemistry, we have students from all over the world. This gives us a wonderfully international environment in which our students can work and study.
Find out what some of our current students think about studying chemistry here at the University of Strathclyde:
For more information about the courses that are available with us please select from our range of undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research degrees. We want you to feel at home from the moment you arrive. That's why we have events and groups set up to make the transition easier for you.
As well as having international students coming to study in the Chemistry Department for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree we also welcome students on exchange programmes.
Exchange students typically come to Strathclyde from their home Universities to study for one year and transfer the credits obtained back to their home degree.
The practical work of my course is designed to simulate real work experience from the crime scene to court and I enjoyed working with students from different countries, interacting with student lawyers and giving evidence in a real court.

There are sponsorship opportunities available to students, giving us the opportunity to do better research work. In general, the University is well prepared to receive new students and support them. The diversity of the university is incredible and how they accommodate so many different students is amazing.
Ana Maria, International Student, Portugal
I'd recommend my department to other students, particularly for the good infrastructures, equipment and facilities. Moreover, all the staff members and other students have a friendly and helpful attitude, which is very supportive especially for foreign students.
