2016Widening Access to Higher Education - What works?

The School of Education at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, is pleased to host a conference for the SFC-funded research project ‘Widening Access to Higher Education for Students from economically disadvantaged households: ‘What works and why?’.

The conference will share the results of research into access to  higher education looking at:

  • Trends in widening access in relation to recent policies;
  • Contributions of the Schools for Higher Education Programme to the widening access landscape and young people’s experiences of the programme;
  • What examples of best practice have been identified internationally and what implications these have for widening access policy and practice in Scotland.

Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss the findings of the research and give feedback based on their own experiences.
