BA3 students say, ‘Moni!’ from Malawi
Five third year BA (Primary Education) students have just returned from Blantyre, Malawi where they spent five days at Machinga Teacher Training College.
Sharon Gow, Rebecca Jones, Jacqueline McLean, Katie Mair and Caitlin Marsh went to Malawi with a group of Scottish teachers.
They all had a challenging, but enjoyable experience working with children and teachers during their time in Malawi.
The five students worked in different primary schools with a range of opportunities presented to them such as working with children with Additional Support Needs, organising the school library, developing and co-teaching literacy lessons, teaching sports leadership activities, helping with a choir and working with the education coordinator at the Open Arms Orphanage.
Throughout their time in Malawi the students kept a blog. The rich experiences they had in the short time they were in Malawi have made a huge impact on the students.
They say that this will:
No doubt be one of the best experience of our lives. We have laughed, cried and done things we could have never imagined!
