Why come to the Gala?

The Gala provides you with unrivalled access to employees from some of the biggest graduate recruiters in the UK. This gives you the opportunity to learn what it’s like to work for a particular company and to explore more about what they do. The Gala also helps you make useful contacts within the industry, which will prove very useful when applying for jobs at the end of your degree or in your final year.

Dress Code

The dress code for the evening is smart business.  For men, this means a suit, shirt and tie and for ladies, a knee-length skirt or suit with a blouse.

Tickets

Student tickets will be made available through departmental offices in due course, announced through email and Facebook, and sold on Eventbrite.

Tips

• Check the sponsors to see which companies are attending and decide which companies you most want to speak to.
• Do your research. Company representatives are always impressed when they know you have researched their company beforehand. This will also mean you can ask worthwhile questions that you couldn’t find the answers to elsewhere.
• Don't be shy; the company representatives are there to talk to you and inform you about their company and the opportunities they can provide. Have some questions ready and prepared for the companies you want to speak to.
• Relax and enjoy the night! Gala is an opportunity to meet employers in an informal setting, but do remember you are representing the university at the Gala.
