Why did you choose to study at Strathclyde?

After investigating the various research projects that have been done in the past along with the great modules offered by the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean & Marine Engineering (NAOME), I knew it was a no-brainer!

What do you like about your course?

I like the diverse skillset the course has equipped me with, gained from doing varied modules, along with the helpful staff and lecturers who are always interested in lending a helping hand.

What has been your favourite thing about studying at Strathclyde?

One of the things I like most about the University is the support offered by the members of staff and the University in general. However, my favourite thing would be the many students I have met who come from diverse backgrounds, offering me a more well-rounded picture of the industry I’ll be working in.

What do you think of Glasgow/Scotland? Have you managed to travel around much?

Scotland is a beautiful country with tons of sights to visit. I was able to go on a road trip shortly after finishing my exams and got to see the beauty of the Highlands with the friends that I made at university.

What are your ambitions for the future and how do you think your time at Strathclyde will help you achieve your goals?

I am hoping to get a job in my preferred industry, marine engineering. Strathclyde, and more specifically the NAOME department, has provided me with a good foundation to accomplish this goal.

They have also been very helpful in bridging the gap between industry and university by hosting careers fairs and inviting people from the industry to come and present their new projects and to gives us a better understanding of what to expect in the future.

Would you recommend Strathclyde to other people and why?

I would recommend coming to Strathclyde to study, on account of the supportive staff and opportunities that come with the university.
